# 11. Buffer Pool
To address reversal events or other cancellation events, a contribution of credits from each issuance can be allocated to the OCP buffer pool, proportional to the assessed risk of reversal. See [Section 8 Permanence](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vqZuGb2GtZ9Bq70GDeGjPZbC2Tgjc0vK8KjIpTF21QE/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.tj06l34vuomy) for more information.
A member of the [kita.earth](kita.earthhttps://www.kita.earth/) team, a carbon insurance provider, will join the methodology expert panel as a non-voting ‘platform partner’ to provide advice on buffer pool contributions for each specific methodology, based on the risks of reversal for each type of project. They will also monitor the buffer pool at a registry level to ensure it accounts for both avoidable and unavoidable reversals.
